Woo-hoo!
Watch this (even if you've never watched Moonlight!) and then let CBS now how completely stupid they are for dropping it!!!

I for one will never take another chance on new shows on CBS after they cancelled "Jericho" on my birthday last year, and "Moonlight" just before my birthday this year. Why bother-they're going to cancel it anyways!

AAARRGGHHH!!!!

I just found this video, and me likey MUCHO!!!!!!!

P.S. I'm reverting back to a free account, so I have no idea if this is going to disappear in 3 days or not!

Has it really been that long?

I'm so tired of cough/cold/flu season!! I'm behind everywhere-anyone know any good tricks for cleaning laminate flooring quickly?? (Cleaning ranks last in my priority list!)

Before I forget-MJ, I'm so glad to hear your dad is doing better!! I'll be rooting for you next weekend!!

I don't have much news from this neck of the woods; the past few months have been bad at work, so I haven't done much of anything-except feed the cats and sleep! Which are probably about equal-they're hungry all the time, and I'm not sleeping much! Pokey has developed a habit of wandering the house crying at night; I took her to the vet but he couldn't find anything medically wrong, so he thinks it's a behavioral problem. Most nights I end up having to dose her with Valium just so that I can get a couple hours of broken sleep before she starts up. At least she waited until 5am to start today! (I wonder if Ambien works in cats?)

Tonight though-it's Bon Jovi night!! I've been looking forward to this for a year now-and Daughtry is the opening act! AND then I find out this week that Journey is touring with Heart and Cheap Trick this summer!! I don't know about you, but I know where my $600 bonus refund is going!!

I won't mention the sadness that is "Jericho"...sniff, even now I'm still pissed! &(*%&# CBS!

edit: OMG!!!!!!! *Best* concert evah!!! He sang "Hallelujah"!!! Thud!

And I should be finishing packing...but I hate it!! We're heading out for Vegas this morning-me, my sister, the b-i-l, and their roommate. Started out as a girls trip, but not anymore!! (And yes, sports fans-only 1 hotel room for 4 adults; it was too late to get another room when he barged into the plans! We're staying at the South Point Casino & Hotel-a few people I know have stayed there and really liked it...there's a rodeo there this weekend, so maybe there will be some cute cowboys around!!

Tonight we women are going to see "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Venetian, and then tomorrow we get to spend *all* day at the Nellis AFB air show!! (Um, yay?) I keep telling myself it's a couple of days away, but it's not helped yet!

Aunt Angie from work gets the dubious joy of caring for the girls-hopefully Pokey will stop hissing at her when she figures out that Ang is handing out her food for 3 days! LOL!! We'll see!

Wish me luck!!!

Actually pleased!

Almost time to go back to work...

  • Jul. 15th, 2007 at 7:27 PM
Woo-hoo!
Ugh!! I've really been getting into not having to work Saturdays; the other 2 have been picking all of them up-which is fine with me!! But it almost makes having to go back on Mondays worse-I can so easily get into the weekend swing! Accomplished next to nothing today, though did go see HP and took a nap this afternoon; and the kitties enjoyed the Chicken Caesar Salad from Boston Market! (Still trying to figure out the piece of chicken that ended up in the water dish, but who knows with cats!)

Got some bad news this week; even though my pressures have been in the normal range, I now have glaucoma in both eyes, plus more damage in the left. Back to having to see the eye doc every couple of months which sucks with our crappy insurance. Getting old stinks!! (I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!)

Still no fridge, though it's supposed to be in sometime this week. At least my bed is getting delivered on Tuesday!! YAY! And no immediate neighbors, though supposedly they'll be moving in by the end of summer. Boo!

Don't forget!!!!!!!!!

  • Jul. 5th, 2007 at 7:16 PM
panties!
Tell everyone you know to watch "Jericho" starting tomorrow night at 9pm!!!!!! (On CBS, natch!)
We need lots and lots of viewers-especially if you know any Nielsen families!!!

I'm so excited-I can't wait for new eps!

:)

Been a little while (again!)

  • Jun. 29th, 2007 at 10:54 PM
Woo-hoo!
Trying to settle in, which has been difficult this week with the appearance of the mysterious rash from hell...started Sunday, and seems to only affect certain areas at a time. Most commonly on the legs (especially knees) and arms-all of a sudden, red spots, and the whole area is hotter than hell compared to surrounding skin. Twice I've ended up in the bathtub with a box of baking soda, so far though tonight has been mild. (Last night I would have killed for some ice...but since I *still* don't have a fridge, we'll leave that alone for now!) I cleaned the couch with leather cleaner, and starting tomorrow I'll be washing everything-all my clothes, sheets, etc. The culprit appears to be something from the storage shed (which I forgot to cancel, so now I'm out $200 for nothing!) as it didn't appear until I put a set of sheets on the bed w/o washing them first. Yeah, I know-I'm an idiot!

Tonight I'm in fully awake mode-it's 11pm, and I'm not sleepy in the slightest! (Highly uncommon, usually by 9pm I'm out like a light!) So I'm listening to music (Sugarland currently) as loud as I want as I still don't have neighbors in this building! Only 2 others in the complex (next set moving in this weekend) and they are in the one across the way, but halfway down, so not near me! Anyone trying to sleep wouldn't be happy as I'm veering happily back and forth between Bon Jovi, Phantom of the Opera, Wayne's World, Survivor, Pat Benatar and then some country! Oooh-I'll put on Eddie & the Cruisers next!! Gotta love Yahoo Jukebox!! (Speaking of Eddie-that's one of my fave movies of all time-anyone else seen it?)

My e-mail is still screwy, so I'm going under the assumption that I'm missing e-mails on a constant basis, but since I have no idea what could be the problem now, I'm just saying to hell with it! If it's really important, I'll hear about it at some point! (Which means if I don't answer you, try sending it to the jlpresley_99 address!)

To end on the up side: One of the pharmacists at a sister store has 5 kids; the youngest was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November, two weeks before she turned 2. Children's Hospital in SD gave them no hope-most diagnosed with this tumor (ATRT I think) die before they turn 3. Basically they were told to prepare for her death-how's that for a diagnosis? Anyways, they found St. Jude's in Memphis, and moved the whole family there in December for 6 months of treatment. There they met other families going thru the same struggle and the same fears, though not all of the stories ended happily. Fortunately, this family was given a miracle-last week, all the scans came back negative for the tumor, and they are now home again-ALL of them!!! She will have to have some follow-up treatment here (back at Children's, though I hope the staff this time is of more help!) but right now her prognosis is excellent!! (And no disability from the chemo!!)

Home finally...

  • Jun. 14th, 2007 at 12:36 PM
Woo-hoo!
And we're moved in! Well, the pile of crap is still existing in the garage-I've been unable to mess with it due to the toe from hell since Tuesday. (...waiting for MD to call...) Got a security system installed today, so I don't have to push the chair in front of the door again! (YAY!) And the newspaper person figured out that there really is only 1 person living in the complex, and actually managed to deliver my paper today!

Still not certain the e-mail is working correctly, but I left off Spamkiller when I downloaded my McAfee software again, and that seems to be working. (At least that subscription was expiring next week!) Not getting a whole lot of mail to the addy, but every time I check groups site, I don't immediately see anything missing, so hopefully it's just slow! (Of course, if there's anything not sent on groups, I'll have no idea if it's missing!)

No fridge yet; could take up to 3 weeks...sigh. So I'm living out of a dorm size fridge-just enough room for milk, a couple of sodas, butter and mustard!! (To think I was so looking forward to getting into my own place so I could attempt to cook dinner again!) Oh, and the freezer is just big enough for a candy bar or two, so of course I can't even have my frozen dinners!

Maybe I'll sneak down to Panera for some soup-of course, now it's 8 miles away, not 2!

:)

Cross fingers!

  • May. 28th, 2007 at 8:22 AM
Woo-hoo!
Tomorrow *should* be the big day!!! I sent my money on Friday, so if the bank funds their portion, we close tomorrow!!! Oh yay!!! (I still can't move in until the 9th 'cause I have things to do before I can!) It's actually making me look forward to the day! (Which is saying a lot after a holiday weekend!)

Got caught up on all the finales this weekend-most were good! I love "Heroes"-waaah Peter!!!!!! He'd better be back or I'll be pissed!!

Really liked "Lost"-poor Charlie! But does it say anything about me that the thing I noticed the most was an oops! on the part of the writing staff? When Jack is at the pharmacy-Oxycodone is not refillable in CA!! You have to have a new written script every time! (And I've never seen an office with a box of samples/unit dose fills except in a Pyxis machine!!) LOL!! It's always the little things that I notice!

"NCIS" was confusing-I didn't like the flow at all. I will say I knew the twist at the end--there was just something about Tony's girlfriend that I have never liked or trusted, and I was right!

And KTLA just mentioned the NUTS! campaign!!!!

How do you spend $2100 in 2 hours?

Woo-hoo!
YAY!! They're changing out the carpet in my bedroom on Monday-I think we're nearing the finish line! I already ordered the kitties tags with the new addy, and I've put my order in to Cox for new service-I'll be going with their internet because a. SBC/AT&T doesn't offer DSL yet in that area and b. They pissed me off anyways, so forget them! I just have to survive the next 11 days and it will be mine!! I probably still won't be able to move in until the middle of June, but trust me-I am SO ready! (And so are the girls!)

My 'best' present ever? Can you believe CBS had the audacity to cancel my show on my birthday????? If anyone watched "Jericho", or knew someone who did, please contact CBS and tell them off! There's lots of campaigns out there to save Jericho-and we've already succeeded in letting them know how pissed off we are!!

Not at all impressed with the other upfronts-it's a good thing I'm getting digital cable with all the documentary channels, as I don't think I'll be watching much network TV next season-especially CBS! (Did you see the show about swingers????) WTF?!

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

Western. Like Midland, Western is another accent that people consider neutral. So, you might not actually be from the Western half of the country, but you definitely sound like it.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

Can I say that's the hardest one of these I've done? Actually having to think about it!

Will post more later-gotta run!

Hi!

Woo-hoo!
I still exist!!

Computer time is seriously curtailed with the computer of death...I can't wait to get mine out of storage!!

Still no luck finding a home; we're going out this weekend to look at a couple of more. I've waited to go looking again because I just got my deposit back on the other one on Thursday-it took them 2 weeks to sign the cancellation!!! (Gee-they signed it Monday, and went into escrow again Tuesday...dumbasses! Did they think I wasn't going to figure that out?) On the funny side-my old condo has already been re-listed at $275-310K!! Supposedly they re-did it, but they still haven't put up any pics, and you have to call them to get the code to get in, so we won't be able to sneak by and see what they did!

I actually got my first 2 days off this year on Thursday and Friday; spent most of Thursday running errands (like picking up my refund--and depositing it pronto in the bank!) and getting my 2nd crown replaced. The girls were disappointed because I didn't get as much time to spend with them, but hopefully I can get some more time off--without having to wait another 4 months!

Just tried to catch up with everyone's LJ posts; thanks to C. I'm not hungry anymore!! ;-D (You knew I was going to click to read the full post!) LOL! We get some weird crap, but thankfully nothing like that! And MJ-I could *never* turn off the TV-you are definitely a stronger person than me! (I type that as I'm 1/2 watching "Antiques Roadshow"!)

Sister's dog had to be put down last week; poor thing has looked absolutely miserable for a while, but it got to the point where she was collapsing, not able to hold herself up. :( Poor Sheba...but she's most definitely in a better place now.

I'm sure there's more I should mention, but I'm trying to cram as much time in before this thing crashes on me again as I can! Hope all are doing well-especially B. and her arm!!

TTYL!

Still just hangin' on...

  • Mar. 25th, 2007 at 6:49 PM
Woo-hoo!
I am so tired of this waiting! Still no word on whether they will shorten escrow period; now I'm trying to figure out how to pay for everything I'm going to need to do. (Since I'm most likely going to have to replace the a/c unit!) Sigh!! But I don't want to try and find something else; I've had enough and I know the girls have too.

But I do have a question for y'all-does anybody have or know someone who has satellite TV? I can't get Cox at the new place, which amazes the hell out of me. I'm not sure how it works everywhere else, but at least in So Cal, cities contract with cable providers so you can't choose....except in the Shadowridge area (a huge master-planned community) of Vista where the area's HOA contracted with Time-Warner, unlike the rest of the city which has Cox! Now I'm stuck because AT&T says I can't get DSL at the new addy (though my friend who lives on the other side of the same complex can!) and TW charges too much for Roadrunner service. So I'm peeved all around!! The b-i-l is telling me to get satellite, but I've heard bad things about that type of service. (Having to pay extra for local channels, easy to lose service in bad weather, etc.)

Any thoughts?

Meme thing...
